Check out the Global Dialogue Center. Pretty Awesome!

Just so you know I am always seeking that little bit to inspire me and others. With that said, I stumbled upon an Exhibit located on the Knowledge Gallery at the Global Dialogue Center.  I know there are countless places to discover rich information on leadership, professional, and personal development.  Nonetheless, I give this virtual gathering place http://bit.ly/aHWKpW my complete endorsement.  This Web site has it all, wonderful tools and great resources.

In any event, this Exhibit http://bit.ly/LtGuTe (celebrating 100 years of Victor Frankl) caught my attention.  It is undoubtedly something that is very near and dear to my heart.  Having read Stephen Covey’s book, “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People “ where he articulates a little bit about Victor Frankl and most importantly, being a descendant of Nazi survivors myself, I have come to appreciate this man so much with his astonishing vision.

For those of you who have the time, Victor Frankl’s book entitled, “Man’s Search for Meaning” http://yhoo.it/M1Jl5r , is an inspiring read as well.  To give you a brief summary, Victor Frankl was a Viennese neurologist and psychologist who was imprisoned in the Nazi death camps.  Unlike the six million innocent Jews that were slaughtered at the hands of the Nazis, Frankl was one of the lucky few to live to tell his story like my grandparents did.  Visualization is what helped him and aided others with their extraordinary survival.

In Victor Frankl’s own words:
The prisoner who had lost faith in the future “his future” was doomed.  Without his belief in the future, he lost his spiritual hold: he let himself decline and became subject to mental and physical decay.  Usually this happened quite suddenly, in the form of a crisis, the symptoms of which were familiar to the experienced camp inmates.

It began with the prisoner refusing one morning to get dressed and washed or to go out on the parade grounds. No entreaties, no blow, no threats had any effect. He just lay there, hardly moving. He simply gave up. There he remained, lying in his own excreta, and nothing bothered him anymore http://bit.ly/XKZlF .
Once again, if you have a few minutes in your day, take a moment to watch this video http://bit.ly/KGR0ZL called, “The Power of Vision” by Joel A. Barker.  Joel Barker is an amazing visionary, so you will appreciate this brief documentary. His video is based on the story of Victor Frankl and how positive vision of the future kept him alive.
